Days off- driving to Mammoth and back
We took off after breakfast and headed toward Mammoth on a potential cycling route when we return next week, HWY 36. It turned out to be a very long and lonely highway ending in Red Bluff. We will not be going that way! As fate would have it, we lost our fuel pump on highway 395 about 40 miles north of Reno. We were towed to the closest AAA certified repair shop…which just happened to be a couple of blocks from the Peppermill Casino. Ah, lady luck!

After driving 150 miles on desolate Hwy36, our fuel pump died…only 40 miles north of Reno. The truck towed us to the AAA shop which was a 10 minute walk to the Peppermill Casino. Better to be lucky than good!
